Jak is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on abstract painting and slow fashion design. jak started painting large scale murals in schools and homes all over the Chicagoland area in her early years as an artist. she stopped painting for over a decade; moving to to LA in 2012 to pursue a career in fashion design.

Jak returned to painting in 2020 during the pandemic. The majority of works dated 2020-2021 were created with muted color palette and incorporated leather scraps and other textiles in patchwork style assembled pieces. in 2022, jak relocated to Nashville, TN. The new environment spurred a change in the work; jak’s work became much more colorful. Her work is not focused on a particular subject but the physical act of painting and exploring textiles: using movement and expressive marks to channel personal emotions and experiences in the artist's day to day life.

Jak loves experimenting with new materials and is currently working on new figurative works and assemblages.
